Vera Lynn Grissom Bedran, 68, of Fort Worth, Texas, concluded her valiant struggle with health on November 3, 2023. Born to the late Elwin and Grace Grissom, her life journey began in Sylacauga, AL, on February 10, 1955, and it was a journey filled with love, adventure, and the courage of a woman who knew no bounds. Lynn embraced the world with open arms and the spirit of adventure.
A seasoned flight attendant, Lynn's career allowed her to touch the skies and explore many corners of the earth, spreading her warmth and radiant smile across continents. Her travels were not just a job but a reflection of her love for life and new experiences. Lynn was a pillar of strength and independence, dedicating her life to raising her family and supporting them through highs and lows.
A matriarch in her own right, she leaves behind a lineage of those who adored her: her brother Sonny Grissom, sister Brenda Henderson, sons Miccai and Thomas Bedran (with his wife Stefani), and her precious grandchildren Alissa, Miccai Jr., August, Jaycob, Jayden, Emily, Malik, Chloe, and Luna, along with her great-grandchild, Ezekiel. Her guidance and love will be carried forward by the family she nurtured with so much dedication.
She now joins her father, Elwin, her mother, Grace, and her sister, Cynthia, in eternal peace, leaving behind a world that was brighter for her presence.
Services to honor Lynn's life will be held on Friday, November 17th, at 10 a.m. at Springdale Baptist Church, 3016 Selma St. Fort Worth, TX 76111.
Lynn's life was a testament to her faith, and she believed she would be called home when God was ready. As we gather to remember her indomitable spirit, we also honor her belief that life is an adventure to be embraced at every moment and celebrate a life lived fully with love, laughter, and an unending zest for discovery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to a cause dear to Vera's heart, the Humane Society, or another animal-friendly charity, which will help continue Lynn's legacy of love and care.
Rest in peace, dear Lynn. You have earned your wings in more ways than one.
