Sharron Lee Wilkerson, 75, peacefully took her last breath on October 6, 2021.
A celebration of the life of Sharron Lee Wilkerson will take place at 7 p.m. on October 16th at Freedom life Church with pastor Chad Word officiating.
Sharron was born on April 23, 1946 to Earnest Hilborn and Juanita Deweber-Sewell in Bowie. She loved to sing, read, sew, crochet and spend time with her family. She had a love for all animals, especially her dogs. Sharron was not a stranger to anyone. She met her husband, Edwin Ray Wilkerson Sr. in 1968 in Bowie and they were married on November 1, 1969. They were together for 51 years. Sharron's last job was working as a prison guard at Allread Unit, a job in which she loved and was considered to be her favorite.
Sharron was preceded in death by her father, Earnest Hilborn; mother, Juanita Deweber-Sewell; brother, Allen Hilborn and granddaughter, Lexi Lynch.
Sharron is survived by her husband, Edwin Ray Wilkerson Sr; sister, Carol Collins and husband, Earl of Florida; sons, James Nevonen and wife, Laurie of Grapevine, Edwin Ray Wilkerson, Jr. and wife, Connie of Bowie, Shawn Wilkerson and wife, Tiffani Perry of Bowie; grandchildren, Logan Nevonen and Matthew Nevonen both of Grapevine, Mallory Dowden and husband, Ben Dowden, Dakota Wilkerson of Munford,TN, Emma Lynch of Bowie, Jessie Storm Wilkerson and husband, Christopher Swailes of Memphis TN, Brienna Wilkerson of Memphis, TN and Skye Wilkerson of Bowie; three great-grandchildren of Memphis, TN and many honorary children.
