Roy Wood Dacus Jr., of Fort Worth, TX, went to be with the Lord on December 20, 2024.
He was born on December 11, 1949, in Snyder, TX to Roy and Ruby Dacus. Roy proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1967 to 1970, spending 13 months in combat in Vietnam. He earned numerous commendations for his bravery and leadership. Following his outstanding military service, Roy worked as a professional custom home painter contractor for 35 years. He took great pride in his work, and was known for his high quality of service. Roy enjoyed fishing, gardening, playing music, and had a great love for animals.
Roy is survived by his beloved wife, Kathy Dacus; his children, Rachelle Wagner, Angela Tjahjono, Jennifer Ross, and Melissa Dacus; 15 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; his sisters, Karon Sharp and Shirley Reed; and friends who will miss him dearly.
A viewing will be held at 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on January 7, 2025 at Fort Worth Funerals and Cremations, 8808 Camp Bowie West Blvd, Suite 170, Fort Worth, TX 76116. Graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on January 7, 2025 at the Dallas–Fort Worth National Cemetery, located at 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX, 75211.
