Roger Allen Leavens

Roger Allen Leavens, 67, of Fort Worth, TX, passed away July 22, 2024 in a fatal car accident.

Roger was born on January 16, 1957 in Gainesville, Florida, to Dwight Earl Leavens and Phyllis Irene Chambers Leavens. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dwight and Phyllis Leavens, and brother-in-law, John Glenn Mayer. He is survived by his two siblings; brother Gary D. Leavens (Sandra) of Jasper, GA; sister Karen S. Leavens Mayer of Maylene, AL; nieces Caitlyn E. Mayer Seagraves (grandnephew Marshall B. Seagraves); Alyssa B. Mayer Onkka (Ryan), (grandniece Addison M. Onkka); Lauren G. Mayer Dunn (Madison); Emma R. Mayer Lucas (Carlton); and Tess E. Mayer.

Roger lived in various parts of north Florida during his life, primarily in the Jacksonville, Orange Park, Panama City, and Tallahassee areas. He attended Piedmont College in Demorest, GA, Florida State University in Tallahassee, FL, and the University of West Florida in Pensacola, FL, where he graduated with a B.S. degree in Marketing. He was an avid fisherman, and had a deep interest in geology. His hobbies included fishing and kayaking, and he was highly knowledgeable on a broad variety of topics. He lived and worked in Ft. Worth, TX for the past 13 years.

A private memorial service will be held at a future date and time.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in his memory.
