Robert Earle Jones

Robert Earle Jones of Kennedale, Texas passed away April 12, 2023 in Mansfield, Texas.  He was born April 9,1942 in Baltimore City, Maryland to Earl and Louise Jones.

Inurnment Friday, May 5, 2023 at 9:00 am at DFW National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75211.

Memorial Service to follow at 11:00 am at Advent Lutheran Church, 3232 S. Cooper Street, Arlington, Texas 76015.

Bob was a faithful member of Advent Lutheran Church in Arlington, Texas where he volunteered with the weekly food pantry.  His passion and hobby were raising orchids, and he was a lifetime member of the Fort Worth Orchid Society.  On this Society, he served as president for four years, and a member of the American Orchid Society.  He volunteered every Wednesday at the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens.

Bob had a career in the Navy for 24 years.  After retiring from the Navy, Bob worked at a bank, at State Farm Insurance, at the Texas Ranger’s Stadium, as a Substitute School Teacher, and as a Realtor over the course of his 81 years of life.  He was also a graduate of Dallas Baptist college. He had a servant’s heart and loved helping people and children.  He loved musicals, the theater, movies, and to travel.

He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather and will be missed dearly. 

He was preceded in death by his mother, Louise Jones; his father, Earl Jones; and his wife of 49 years, Norelei Ruth Norman Jones.

Survived by his wife, Cheryl Pfeifer Jones; daughter, Robin Mayer and son in law, Tom Mayer; grandson, Dustin Mayer and wife, Jeorja; great granddaughter, Joanna Mayer; granddaughter, Lauren Mayer; son, Bobby Jones and daughter in law, Dawn Jones; granddaughter, Breanna Ngati and husband, Steven Ngati; grandson, Grant Jones; brother, William J. Jones; and sister-in-law, Martha E. Jones; and brother, Stephen W. Jones and sister-in-law, Diane Jones.
