Maria Magdalena (Galeano) Guadamuz

Maria Magdalena Galeano Guadamuz was born on July 21, 1924 in Leon, Nicaragua to Jose Cabezas and Cruz Galeano. She survived her husband, Orlando Andres Guadamuz, who passed away in 2005.

There will be a Graveside Service held at the Keene Memorial Park Cemetery on Friday, September 25, 2020 at 1pm. 

Maria was a woman of great determination and unfathomable strength. Being the mother of eight children, she decided she had to find a better future for her children. In 1967, she left her country destined to the United States. By October of 1969, she had gathered all her children with her, bringing them all to pursue the American dream. At that time, she was working as a housekeeper on Park Avenue in New York City. She was resolute in thinking that her children were to receive a formal education and be exposed to opportunities that would not have been available had she stayed back home. She made miracles happen with her limited earnings. In 1983, having shown her children the dignity of work, she retired and moved to Texas. She became a long time member of the Keene Spanish Seventh Day Adventist Church, where she always helped and visited the sick. To her, visiting friends and loved ones, she always offered a supporting shoulder and a comforting meal. May her life and story never be forgotten. May she always live in the hearts of her sons, daughters, grandchildren, great grandchildren, relatives and friends. Her story is their story as well.

Maria is preceded by her sons, Domingo Omar Galeano, and Jorge Ivan Galeano.

Maria is survived by her children, Alfredo Antonio Galeano, Jose Francisco Guadamuz, Rolando Ignacio Guadamuz, Maria Auxiliadora Guadamuz Baltazar, Francisco Javier Guadamuz, Carolina Socorro Guadamuz Saleh; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
