Lupe C. Lara, 62, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, in Burleson, Texas surrounded by a host of family and friends. Lupe was born on December 11, 1961, in Lubbock, Texas to Mercedes and Eluteria Cruz.
A Celebration of Life to honor Lupe’s life and legacy will be held at 11:00 am on June 1, 2024, at the FWPD Association 100 N Forest Park Blvd, Fort Worth, Texas 76102. Lunch will be served
immediately after.
Lupe worked as a supervisor for Dillard’s for 27 years, beginning in 1994 until she retired in 2021. Lupe welcomed her daughter in November of 1980. She married John Lara in 1986,
welcoming her second daughter that same year. The Cruz and Lara families were brought together from that day. Lupe devoted herself to her children, grandchildren, nieces and
nephews to ensure their happiness. She also loved her shopping. Her closet was a treasure trove of the latest fashions. But in the end, her greatest trend was in the number of brothers,
sisters, nieces and nephews that chose to call her family.
Lupe is survived by her husband, John Lara of Fort Worth, Texas; two daughters and sons-in-law; Yvonne and Kevin Hernandez of Burleson, Texas; Rosemary and Jesse Alaniz of Fort Worth,
Texas; grandchildren, Christian, Brandon, Jakob Hernandez of Burleson, Texas and Bergen and Ezra Alaniz of Fort Worth, Texas; sisters, Juanita Campos, Linda Cordova, Geneva Rocha and
Patricia Colunga all of Fort Worth, Texas; sister Dominga Martinez of Decatur, Texas; brother, Mercedes Cruz Jr. of Fort Worth, Texas and many other relatives and friends, including Ben.
Preceded in death by her parents Mercedes and Eluteria Cruz, brothers, Anthony Cruz and Raymond Cruz; sister, Marcella Gonzalez.
