Lorin Douglas Long, 61, transitioned from his earthly life, Friday February 21, 2025 at a local hospital.
Lorin was born in Dallas Texas, November 8, 1963 to Barbara and Mack Long.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
Lorin grew up in Fort Worth, TX and Kalamazoo, Michigan. He attended Arlington Heights High in Fort Worth and became an electrician by training. Lorin resided in Florida and Sacramento, CA, as an adult, returning to Texas in his later years. He loved the outdoors and especially loved camping and fishing. He enjoyed playing ice hockey in his teens, both in Fort Worth and in Kalamazoo.
Lorin is survived by his mother, Barbara Morton McMasters; step-father, Foy McMasters of Fort Worth, TX; brother, Joel Robin Long of Fort Worth, TX; daughter, Dr. Stephanie Williams and husband, James Williams and family of Willow Park, TX; step-daughter, Andrea Record of Arlington, TX; uncles, Dr. Stephen Long and wife, Paula Long of Bridgeport, TX, Fred Morton and wife, Michelle of Alburquerque, NM; grandchildren and extended family members.
Lorin was preceded in death by his father, Joel Mack Long; grandparents, Evelyn and Joe Long; and two children, Jordon and Amberly Long.
Lorin's Family wishes to express much gratitude to the wonderful medical staff at John Peter Smith and Texas Health Harris hospitals in Fort Worth. They showed him so much tender and patient care during his last years. We are forever grateful.
