Joe Anthony Cruz passed away in Fort Worth, Texas, October 20, 2023. He was born in Brownfield, Texas May 7, 1965, to Mercedes and Eleuteria Cruz.

Joe grew up in Fort Worth, Texas, He always loved being outdoors. He had a love for animals, working with his hands, storytelling, and landscaping. Most of all he loved his family, his sisters, his brothers, and all his nephews and nieces. Joe touched many lives and never knew a stranger. He was number 8 of 10 kids and he was the second oldest of the brothers. Joe truly had a servant’s heart and a soft smile. He could never tell a person no, and if he didn’t know how to do it, he would figure it out. It would sometimes take him hours and hours, but he would figure it out. He was loved by everyone that met him and is going to be greatly missed by many.
Preceded in death by his parents, Mercedes and Eleuteria Cruz; sister, Margie Rocha of Fort Worth, Texas; brother, Raymond Cruz of Decatur, Texas; nephew, Raymond Cruz Jr.
Joe is survived by his son, Joe Anthony Cruz III of Fort Worth, Texas; stepdaughter, Lyndi M. Frescas of Burkburnett, Texas; and his sisters, Juanita Campos, Linda Cordova, Lupe Lara, Geneva Rocha, and Patricia Colunga of Fort Worth, Texas and Dominga Martinez of Decatur, Texas; brother, Mercedes Cruz Jr. of Fort Worth, Texas; numerous nephews and nieces; and very many great nephews and nieces.
