Jane Ball Obituary

Jane “Janie” Ball (Haverkorn) entered Heaven’s Gate on Tuesday morning, March 24, 2026, in Fort Worth, Texas, at the age of 76, following multiple battles with cancer. She was born on February 10, 1950, in Fort Worth, TX as one of five kids to John and Charlye Haverkorn.

Please join us in celebrating the life of Janie on Sunday, April 26, 2026, from 1:30pm to 3:30 pm at Hidden Garden’s Venue at 8229 Jacksboro Hwy., Lakeside, Texas, 76135.

Janie was the devoted wife to James for twenty-five years until his passing, and mother to five children. Her love for her “miracle children” : Gregg, Alexia, Jeff, Meagan and Julie was resolute and unmatched.

Janie was born in 1950, attended St Thomas Catholic School, and graduated from Lake Worth High School in 1968. She met James in Fort Worth and married in 1972. She learned to shoot from her husband and became an avid hunter while training Irish Setters as bird dogs. After trading dogs in for kids, she raised all five kids while volunteering at their many schools and being a cheerleader for each child at their various games. She became known as “Mama Ball” to the Azle neighborhood kids for her no-nonsense parental guidance for any child who needed a place to stay or who needed a shoulder to lean on.

She was preceded in death by:  her spouse, James Ray Ball; daughter, Susa Jane Ball; and brother James Michael Haverkorn.

She is survived by her children: Greggory Ball, Alexia Ball, Jeffrey Ball, Meagan Beavers and Julie Ball; her brother, John Haverkorn; her sisters, Carolyn Johnson and Mary Ann Haverkorn; grandchildren: Sean Ball, Aaron Ball, Kelsey Ball, Kayley Ball, Quinlan Smith, Perrin Beavers, Presley Beavers, Ezra Ball, Sienna Ball, Aiden Ball, and Jake Ball; and her devoted four legged friend, Starla.

As Janie was an animal lover, in lieu of flowers, please donate to IRescue Animal Rescue in Weatherford at https://irescuehomelesspets.org or Matilda’s Garden Rescue in Euless as at https://www.matildasgarden.org.
