Evelyn passed peacefully March 2, 2025 at Cityview Nursing and Rehab Center.
Evelyn was born July 5, 1956 in Fort Worth, TX to father, Raymond Smith and mother, Mattie Williams-Purvis. She studied at the Fort Worth ISD and was a honors 1974 graduate of Amon Carter Riverside HS (Fort Worth, Texas). After HS, she excelled in a career of Culinary Arts and worked as a Nursing Assistant. Evelyn's hobbies were baking and singing. In 1985, she met and married Henry B. Collins. They were united until his demise in Nov. 2010.
Survivors: Three children, Cendria Purvis-Jackson (New Orleans, La), Taura J. Harry (Denver, Colorado) and Robert L. Harry Jr. (Fort Worth, Texas); four grandchildren, Trencia J. Amerson, Trenton J. Amerson Jr., Trendon James Amerson, Ble'u J. Jackson (All of New Orleans, Louisiana); two great-grandchildren, Maddisyn Ahmir Lesure (New Orleans) Mason Semaj Franklin-Amerson (Fort Worth).
Preceded in death: Raymond Smith (Father), Mattie Williams-Purvis (Mother), Guy James Purvis (Step-father) and Jonathan L. Jackson (Son in Law).
