Ethel Jane Brown was born in Austin, Texas on March 6, 1946 to the late Robert and Viola Lee.

Ethel graduated from the University of Texas in Austin with her Bachelors Degree and taught Speech Therapy in the Fort Worth Independent School District for 32 years. In 1967, Ethel married the love of her life, Phillip Brown Sr. in Austin, Texas and they eventually settled down in Fort Worth, Texas. Their first child, Phillip Parker Brown II, was born in March of 1971. Their second child, Robert Jermaine Brown, was born in April 1975.
In the late 70’s Ethel and her husband joined Galatian Missionary Baptist Church, under the late Pastor Cecil Harris, and became Choir Director. In the early mid 80’s the Old Ship of Zion Family church was born in the home of Pastor Phillip and Ethel Brown. That family later grew and became the Body of Christ Church in Fort Worth, Texas.
Ethel enjoyed family and friend gatherings, cooking, watching westerns with her husband, and football games. But most of all she loved showing off her grandchildren and her great grandchildren.
Ethel is preceded in death by her husband, Pastor Phillip Brown; her father, Robert Lee; her Mother, Viola Lee; and her sister, Lucille Jefferson.
Those who are left to carry on her legacy are Phillip II (Paula) Brown; Robert (Nicole) Brown; six grandchildren, Kristian (Bianca), Taeyah (Hayden), Elijah (Lauren), Daniel, Josiah, and Isaac; great grandchildren, Emilla, Grace, Ariyah, and Elon.
