Emma R. Hall

Emma Reen (Curry) Hall was born on June 9, 1940, in Lubbock, Texas, to Arthur Curry Sr. and Lurean Curry. She received her early education in Lubbock, Texas, and later furthered her education in Dallas, Texas, attending Velma’s Beauty School.

Emma was a dedicated and hardworking woman throughout her life. In her later years, she was employed by Mos Tech Industries as a technician. She was known for her generous spirit and love for serving others, earning the affectionate title of the neighborhood “Candy Lady.”

Emma met the love of her life, Dwight Leonard Hall, and they were united in holy matrimony. From this union, one daughter, Melody Denise Hall, was born.

She was preceded in death by her parents; five siblings; her son, Donald Dwight Curry; her daughter, Regenia Hall; and her granddaughter, Taheerah Samiyyah Mills.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories her children: Melody Hall Boyd (Kelley) and Dennis G. Kelley of Fort Worth, Texas; Amir A. Hall and Laurie Huerta Hall of Lancaster, Texas; along with her grandchildren Terry, Moses, Julian, Jordan, Zion, Samiyyah, Ashi, and Ania. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, including Sehkani, Artemis, and Izayaha.

Emma also leaves a host of loving nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. Among those is Regenia Jenkins, who carries the namesake of Emma’s late daughter, Regenia Hall.

She is also survived by three brothers: Arthur Curry Jr. of Arlington, Texas; Charles Curry of Lubbock, Texas; and Algie Curry of Arlington, Texas; and two sisters: Vera Curry of Cedar Hill, Texas, and Joanne Curry Sanders of Lubbock, Texas.
