Edelia Felarca Cudal, 75, went to be with the Lord on July 29, 2024 in Fort Worth, Texas. She was born on June 28, 1949 in San Narciso Zambales, Philippines to Redentor and Engracia Felarca. She attended San Rafael-Natividad Elementary School and Zambales Academy. In 1971, she was part of the first graduating class at St. Jude School of Nursing in Manilla. From 1971 to 1973, she began her nursing career in the Philippines before being recruited to work in the United States.
On December 24, 1975, she married Florante Cudal in Little Rock, Arkansas. They welcomed 3 sons to their family; Allan, Florante Jr., and Richard. Their family resided in Arkansas and California before finally settling in Haslet, TX.
Edelia, also known as Del by her colleagues, enjoyed her career as a nurse for over 45 years. She had a servant heart and a passion for helping others. Some of her relationships with her patients would continue even after her care. She was a devout Catholic with a strong love for Jesus and her faith. Edelia enjoyed crocheting, watching movies, playing solitaire on the computer, and praying her Rosary daily. She loved eating seafood and her favorite Filipino dish, dinuguan. Edelia also loved spending time with the grand kids and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Redentor and Engracia Felarca; brother, Redentor Felarca Jr.
Edelia is survived by her husband, Florante; sons, Allan, Florante (wife, Yvette), Richard (wife, Kharina); brother, Juno; sisters, Wilma, Grace (husband, Ruel) and Yla; grandchildren, Kyndle, Raiden, Madison, Cameron, Rory; many cousins, relatives, and friends.
The Funeral Mass is scheduled for Friday, August 30th, 2024 at 3:30 p.m. at Mary Immaculate Catholic Church in Farmers Branch, TX. There will be a Rosary prayer service at 3:00 p.m. at the church. A reception will follow the Mass at Mary Immaculate Parish Hall. Those that are not able to attend the Rosary and Mass in person, can view the funeral via a live-streaming link which will be sent to family and friends.
