Dr. Rachel Lawton passed away peacefully on October 24, 2024 in Fort Worth, TX. She was born January 2nd, 1951.
Dr. Lawton was a loving mother and grandmother. She loved her family above all. She will be deeply missed by her family. She was an accomplished writer and college professor. She won numerous awards for her teaching at FWISD and was featured on FOX News. Her dissertation is still being quoted to this day. After retirement, Dr. Lawton spent her time tutoring students online.
She liked to quilt, write, and watch tv with her daughters in her free time. Her grandsons were the light of her life. When she wasn’t spending time helping students online or playing with her grandsons, she loved to bake and cook. She was known for her Jalapeño Cornbread, her sweet Pumpkin Bread, and her “Better than Olive Garden’s” Tuscan Soup.
Dr. Lawton is survived by her two daughters: Heather and Amanda; two grandsons, Evan and Ivan; two dogs, Queenie and Leon, and one cat, Koga. They will miss her silly jokes and bubbly laughter.
