Darren Ray Dunn

Darren Ray Dunn passed away in the early morning of November 7th, 2025. He was born on October 1, 1956 to Mary Sue and Warren Dunn in Azle, TX where he resided for most of his life. He led an accomplished career in construction services after joining the Local Union 0178 in 1980 where he worked as a crane operator for Anthony Crane and pipeliner, traveling all the lower 48 before retiring to Springtown, TX with Mary Sue Dunn, his wife of 34 years. During his career, he was an active member of his community, becoming a free mason in 2003 and serving as worshipful master in 2005 & 2006 for White Settlement Masonic Lodge #1372 and Fort Worth Stock Show Lodge #1460.

After retiring, he was able to spend the rest of his life doing what he did best: being a grandaddy. He spent his time bragging about his grandchildren, fishing, hunting, and working around his homestead. He enjoyed hosting fish fries and cookouts for his family and had a special talent for making things happen (at least for his grandkids). 

He is preceded in death by his brothers, Joe and Joseph Dunn, and his father, Warren G. Dunn.

He is survived by his wife, Mary (Sooby); his mother, Mary Sue Turnipseed; his two brothers, Mervin (Kathy) and Farley (Diane) Dunn; and his sisters, Cynthia (David) Wilson and Sheila (Chip) Smith. He leaves behind 5 children, Jeromy, Joshua (Brandy), and Layla Dunn, Gary Traversie and Jessica Chavez; his grandchildren include, Kaitlyn Ditmore, Albert and Danielle Espinoza, Chaney Dunn, and Abigail Traversie along with one great grandchild, Ryker Sharpe.
