Cayetano G. Avalos, Jr., 79, nickname “Tony”, passed away, July 22, 2023.
Visitation: 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at Fort Worth Funerals & Cremations Chapel.
Cayetano was born December 26, 1943 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He lived with his wife, Paula Avalos, in Azle, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Calletano R. Avalos, Sr. and Aurora Gonzales Avalos; and brother, Guadalupe G. Avalos.
He is survived by his children, Cayetano Avalos, III (Betty) from Liberty Hill, TX; Dolores A. Garza (Daniel) from Lewisville TX; Cristobal Avalos from Azle TX, Cecil Avalos from Denton TX., Debra E. Flores (David) from Arlington, TX, and Charles A. Avalos (Stephanie) from North Richland Hills, TX; 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; brother, Armando G. Avalos (Mary Ann); sisters, Isabel A. Valdez (Rudy), Estella A. Becerra (Joe), of Corpus Christi. TX, and San Juanita Trevino Harris (Choya), of Hernando, MS.
What he loved most was cooking for his family. He was a great cook and could not wait for birthdays, graduations, and other special family events so that he could cook his specialty “barbecue brisket.”
