Carol “Carrie” Bray (Maunsell) passed away on Sunday morning, December 28, 2025, in Fort Worth, Texas, at the age of 63, following a long battle with brain injuries.
Carrie was born in New York City, New York, and grew up in the Northeast. After graduating, she traveled briefly across the country before enlisting in the United States Army. She served her country for several years stateside before receiving orders overseas, where she was stationed in Germany and traveled throughout Europe. After becoming a mother, Carrie was honorably discharged from the military and moved with her family to San Antonio, Texas. She built her life with determination, persistence, and strength, remaining truly unyielding in the face of life’s challenges.
Carrie worked at Red Lobster for 30 years, where she was known for her strong work ethic, reliability, and the genuine kindness she showed to everyone she encountered. She found joy in reading and music, and her deep love for animals brought her companionship, comfort, and happiness throughout her life.
Carrie cherished her family above all else. She is survived by her daughter, Nikita Hale, and son-in-law, Matthew Hale; her beloved grandchildren, Landon and Ashlyn; her sisters, Nancy Autry and Laurie Spagnualo; and many nieces and nephews.
Carrie will be remembered for her passion, tenacity, and the quiet ways she showed love to those closest to her. Her faith provided her comfort and community, and her ability to persevere was unmatched.
A memorial service will be held on February 2, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas. Following the service, she will be laid to rest.
