Ana Womble Obituary

Ana Maria Womble, our mother; a loving, caring, and truly embracing Woman Of God.  Ana, a daughter and doting grandmother of three lovely granddaughters, which she loved unconditionally.  Ana passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer, October 21, 2022.

Please join us in celebrating the life of Ana on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at 3:00 PM at Fort Worth Funerals & Cremations Chapel.

Born a beautiful baby girl, to Edna Celina Jimenez and late Orlando Allen on May 10, 1959 in the city of Colon, Republic of Panama.

Ana Maria grew up with the love of her countries traditional foods, Latin dancing, and the love of sewing and design.

Yet, dancing was her true love.  Salsa and Merengue were her dances of choice.  Ana entered into many dance contests and WON THEM ALL. She also loved R&B, fashion shows, and singing.  Those who knew her, knew no one could outdress Ana Maria.

Ana loved her life in Colon. enjoying her family and friends, and the beautiful water, shores, and beaches of her beloved Panama.

While dancing in a contest, Ana met Private William McKinley Merriman Sr. of the US Army. They fell in love and married in 1979.  They began their life together in Panama, and then went on to live in America.  Ana returned to Panama to give birth to their first born, handsome baby boy and dad’s namesake, William McKinley Merriman Jr., born November 23, 1978.

Returning to the USA, Ana conceived and gave birth to her precious and beautiful daughter, Zahily Ofir Merriman, born February 1, 1981.

Upon her long separation, she divorced her husband, William and was blessed to find love again with Thomas Womble. They married in 1998.  Born to this union, Ana had her second son, Thomas Rafael Womble, born September 2, 1998.

Ana excelled at many jobs to the position of management. In 2009, due to cancer, Ana resigned from the workforce.

For Ana, her love for the United States of America meant accomplishing citizenship, which she did.

Ana was a light that touched so many people.  Her family loved her so much.  She was a petite woman with a smile so big it would brighten every room.  Her shoes were so big they will never be filled. She will be with us always.

She is survived by her son, William  McKinley Merriman Jr of Dallas, Texas; daughter, Zahily Ofir Merriman of Arlington, Texas; son, Thomas Rafael Womble of Norfolk, VA; mother, Edna Celina Jimenez; sisters, Mireya De Perez, Luz Aurora Vda. de Anaya, Edna Celina Moscol, Yaremi Del C.
