David ‘Dave’ Alan Carr, age 73, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home on Wednesday, the 26th of October.
Dave was born in Wareham, MA on July 6, 1949, to his mother, June Hiller Carr and father, Richard Woods Carr.
He is survived by siblings, Deborah Clark and her husband, Dan, Richard Hiller Carr and his wife, Joanne, William Gregory Carr, Teressa Carr Casaceli and her husband, Robert; his daughters, Jeanne Wallace and her husband, Brian, Rebecca Johnson and her husband, Chris; and five grandchildren.
Dave followed a successful career in the oil and manufacturing businesses and retired comfortably to Weatherford, TX. He attended the University of Wyoming before joining the Marine Corps in 1968 and served as a Naval Gunfire section Chief and forward observer during the Vietnam War. Achieving the rank of Corporal during his active service in Vietnam, Dave distinguished himself by receiving the Bronze Star and Navy Commendation Medal with combat ‘V’.
Dave will be remembered most fondly by his family and friends enjoying his passion for ranching, western living and horsemanship which he developed from an early age and pursued throughout his life.
